A large, foldable round table serves as a flexible support structure for the open association meetings of the Kunstverein KV Leipzig. This table was already part of the exhibition architecture of the 2022 exhibition ZENTRUM at the Kunstraum IDEAL, where members of the Kunstverein and Kunstraum IDEAL participated in several workshops discussing organizational models and sustainable structures for art spaces. The focus was on questions regarding the structuring of the collective: How open or closed is it? How accessible? And how can the grassroots democratic approach be reconciled with the responsibilities and tasks within the Kunstverein, particularly in light of its increasing institutionalization?

The material of the table, which had already been used in the exhibitions EINGANG / ENTRANCE at the MdbK as well as ZENTRUM and IDEAL Forum at IDEAL, follows a continuous metabolism—one of constant evolution and transformation. The appropriation of institutional infrastructures in EINGANG / ENTRANCE, the collaborative deconstruction and recoding in IDEAL Forum, and the vision of a decentralized, solidaristic organizational model for self-organized (art) organizations as an alternative institutional framework in ZENTRUM now culminates in a series of support structures for various art spaces. These include, so far, Scriptings (Berlin), TV Bar (Berlin), KV (Leipzig), and HGB Galerie (Leipzig).
