The IDEAL project space is an artist-run platform for exhibitions, collaborative processes and discursive formats at the Neustädter Markt in the east of Leipzig. Based on the interest in the artistic potentials of circulation- and distributionprocesses, the space functions as a flexible infrastructure for experimental exhibition formats, by using the parameters of mediation, translations, networking and contextual reconfigurations as an artistic toolbox. In this framework the project questions i.a. the conditions of the space, the interrelations of site specifics and site fiction, global and local ideoms, the virtual and the real.
The project space was launched in 2018 by Gregor Peschko. Since 2023, it is run together with Martin Haufe, Clara Hofmann, Adrian Lueck and Maren Schleimer.
