The book DOKUMENTA derived from an existing catalogue of Documenta 12. It had been rotting between bushes at an abandoned area as a leftover of a stolen suitcase. The catalogue was exposed to weather conditions and decomposition, showing the page with Andreas Siekmanns´s work “The Exclusive. On the Politics of the Excluded Fourth.“(2007).

The found catalogue was photographed page by page and transferred into a new book, referring to the situation in which it was found. By switching between sign and image the readability of the palimpsest, the book in the book, is challanged, as well as the production of meaning through the overlapping narrativ.
